7 DAYS EASTERN UGANDA WILDLIFE SPECIAL.

Overview

Get a chance to enjoy the diversity and thrilling experience of Uganda’s wilderness by undertaking our 7 days Eastern Uganda Wildlife Special. From Jinja, you tour will be spiced up by the breathtaking whitewater rafting adventure among the wild rapids of the Nile River.

Continue to the magnificent Sipi falls where you will abseil and undertake tours through coffee farms then to Mount Elgon National Park for mountain hiking while encountering numerous animals especially elephants, giant forest hogs, bushbucks and duikers among others.

Day 1: Arrival in the Country.

Today you will arrive into the country via Entebbe International Airport and be received by our professional driver guide.

Depending on the time of jetting into Uganda, you will have a short excursion of Entebbe Town by visiting Uganda Wildlife Education Center and Botanical Gardens. You will be dropped off at your place of stay in Kampala for dinner and slumber.

Day 2: Drive to Jinja for a boat ride to the source of Nile or whitewater rafting.

Jinja is popularly known as the “adventure Capital of East Africa” with a wide range of riveting activities such as whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, boat rides to the source of the Nile, Quad biking and horseback rides along the banks of the Nile.

You will go past vast sugarcane plantations and the verdant Mabira Forest. You will arrive to a refreshing whitewater rafting or bungee jumping adventure on the Nile River. Be treated to a delicious hot meal (lunch) at the booked Hotel. Enjoy a sunset boat cruise to the Source of the Nile with several bird species to look-out for.

Day 3: Transfer to Sipi falls and guided coffee tours.

After breakfast at the Jinja Hotel, depart for the Eastern Town of Kapchorwa where you will continue to the spectacular Sipi falls. You will undertake a guided hike to the base of the waterfalls, where you will take photos, dip into the clean waters at the base of the Mountain.

Lunch will be served at the Sipi River Lodge or similar with clear views of the waterfalls and later continue for the guided village/community walk where you will be introduced to Arabica coffee growing and local processing. Afterwards, retire to the Lodge and prepare for another advantage of day 4.

Day 4-6: Mount Elgon Hike.

For 3 days, you will hike to the Wagagai peak of Mount Elgon and the first day of the hike starts with breakfast then drive to the trailhead for briefing. Begin ascending to Mude Cave at 3500 meters above sea level. Overnight camping and dinner at the Mude Cave Camp.


On the second day of the hike, breakfast at the Camp and continue with the hike with sights of different vegetation types until Wagagai peak at elevation of 4321 meters above sea level. Take photos, enjoy your picnic lunch and begin descending back to Mude Cave. However, visitors who still feel energetic can proceed to Jackson’s peak at about 4165 meters above sea level to admire the Caldera then back to Mude Cave for
camping and dinner.

The next day descend back to Budadiri where you will meet your driver waiting to drop you off at the Hotel for dinner, refreshment and overnight. For the 3 days of hiking Mount Elgon, you will come across the giant forest hogs, forest buffaloes, Defassa waterbucks, Tree and Rock hyraxes, serval cats, Oribis, forest elephants, bush pigs, spotted hyenas, duikers, leopards and Civets among others.

Day 7: Drive back to Kampala and flight back home.

On the last day of your 7 days Eastern Uganda Wildlife Special, check-out of the Lodge and drive back to the Capital with en-route Lunch.

If time permits, embark on a short shopping spree at Buganda road Craft market. Continue to the Hotel or Airport to catch your booked flight.
