6 DAYS UGANDA WILDLIFE AND GORILLA SAFARI.

Overview

The 6 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari expose visitors to the mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable national park which is located in southwestern Uganda. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is one unforgettable experience on your Uganda safari.

After visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo national park that has diverse wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs, zebras, hippos, crocodiles among others. This safari also exposes visitors to the Uganda equator in Kayabwe and this place offers the best photographic moments, experiments and African art and handmade crafts.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Arrive at the airport or be served breakfast at the hotel in Kampala and the driver guide will be waiting for you to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The driver-guide will take you to any supermarket to purchase some items of human use like camera batteries, cigarettes, among others and maybe to the forex to change the currency to Ugandan shillings for easy transactions.

Queen Elizabeth National Park will be accessed using the shortest road which is the Kampala-Mityana-Mubende-Kyenjojo Road then connect to Fortportal – Kasese Road.


You will be welcomed with a game drive as you approach your accommodation facility. This park is amazing with interesting parts like the Kishasha sector having the rare tree- climbing lions, Kazinga channel with hippos, crocodiles and different bird species, Kyambura gorge with chimpanzees, Mweya peninsular and Kasenyi plains with different mammals. Then, you will check in the safari lodge booked.

Day 2: Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Take a morning game drive in either Kasenyi plains or Mweya peninsular and then an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This day will expose you to different wildlife such as the four of the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, Buffalos), civet, Spotted hyenas, crocodiles, hippos among others and birds like terns, pelicans, fish eagles among others.

While on the game drive, you’ll be lucky enough to sight lions and leopards but alternatively you can engage in an experiential lion tracking experience for almost assured sightings.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi national park.

Head to the Ishasha sector and have a watch of the rare tree-climbing lions in the tree branches hence getting the best spot of the prey. These lions pretend that they are not 9n mission and of which they are keenly searching or looking on the prey like antelopes.

After proceeding to Bwindi national park and as this park has 4 sectors you will have booked your gorilla trekking permit to any of the gorilla families in the Buhoma sector which is the nearest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Bwindi National Park is one of the four national parks where you can find the endangered mountain gorillas and up to three gorilla families can be found here. On arrival, you will check in to the accommodation facility for dinner and a nap.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour.

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing, assignment of the park ranger and group to trek with plus cross-checking of gorilla permits. The driver-guide will remain at the park offices waiting for you and then head to the forest to start the search. You will have the first sight for just an hour.

In that hour, you will be enjoying the gorillas feeding, walking, and leader of the group-silverback practicing its leadership prowess and females maybe breastfeeding. Thereafter trek out of the forest and meet the driver guide who will take you back to the lodge for lunch.

Take a community tour of the Batwa where you will be entertained with
the dances, making of fire using natural ways and you can support the community by purchasing some handmade crafts. The day ends after returning to the safari lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park and evening boat cruise.

Have an early breakfast and depart to Lake Mburo national park which is the nearest national park from the capital, Kampala. It is also the smallest savannah park in the country. The park has amazing features in form of attractions such as the impalas, zebras, Ankole long horned cattle among others.

On arrival, you will straight away head to Lake Mburo which is the biggest lake in the park for a boat cruise. You will be able to spot crocodiles and hippos among others and this will be followed by checking in the accommodation site.

Day 6: Game drive and transfer back to Kampala.

Take a morning game drive with packed breakfast and get into the savannah plains where you will be able to spot animals like zebra, impala, topi, eland, bushbuck, buffalo, warthog, leopard, hyena among others.


Thereafter, proceed and embark on the journey to Kampala with a stopover at Uganda equator for photos, experiment and lunch. At this point, you may have a chance to purchase some souvenirs. Be dropped at the airport in Entebbe and this will be the end of a 6 days Uganda safari.
