6 DAYS CULTURAL AND WILDLIFE IN RWANDA

Overview


This 6 days cultural and wildlife safari in Rwanda is one of the amazing safaris that several tourists who come to Rwanda would like to do.

The safari will take you to Kigali which is the capital city of Rwanda and the cleanest city in East Africa and Africa at large. This safari will also take you to Volcanoes National Park which is famously known for homing the endangered mountain gorillas which are said to be the closest relative of a man following chimpanzees and bonobos.


You will continue with your journey and visit the Iby’iwachu Cultural Village from where you will see and hear the traditions and history of the people of Rwanda. The safari will also take you to Musanze caves and have the history of the place there from here you will proceed to Kigali again and visit the genocide memorial Centre and later transfer back to the airport for your flight

Day1. Arrival at the airport and transfer to volcanoes national park

Be picked up from the airport by your driver guide as soon as you arrive at the airport who will shortly give you a briefing about your Safari to this land of a thousand hills.

After your briefing, you will drive to volcanoes national Park which is the only Park in Rwanda known for homing the endangered mountain gorillas. Drive to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day2. Gorilla trekking

Wake up early in the morning on this interesting day and be served with your breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters for payments, briefing and be permitted to go for gorilla trekking one of the selling activities in the country.

After the briefing, your ranger guide will lead you to the park to search for these endangered species In this activity, visitors are always advised to hire porters to help carry for them heavy bags, binoculars, cameras and other requirements needed for the safari.

You will proceed with the journey trekking and immediately after reaching them you will be given an hour in the presence of these great apes seeing their young ones playing, grooming and other behaviors. After the experience, you will be given a trekking permit and then drive to the lodge for your meals.

Day3. Visit the Iby’iwachu Cultural Village

Enjoy your breakfast at your lodge and then drive to Iby’iwachu Cultural Village where you will be told about the culture and historical information of the people of Rwanda. While here you will tell stories about the ancient Rwanda leaders and their palaces where they used to order from.

You will also have a chance of looking at the local communication media such as drums and other royal regalia. You will also be told about the political, economic and social life of ancient Rwanda. Return to the lodge for your meal.

Day4. Visit the Musanze caves

On your 4th day of your Safari, you will wake early you will be given your breakfast at the lodge and then drive straight to Musanze caves which are located in the Musanze district. While here you will have a look at the ancient caves that lived for a million years. The most important thing you should not miss about these caves is that they have got several bats which are hanging on the walls of the caves.

Exploring these caves normally takes 1-2 hours and the caves have got much darkness hence there is a possibility of you to come with a source of light which you will be using to light where necessary. Having done your activity, retreat to the lodge for your meal and accommodations.

Day5. Transfer to Kigali and visit the Kigali genocide memorial Centre

On this 5th day of your safari, you will begin it with a breakfast and then drive to Kigali city and preferably to Kigali genocide memorial Centre and have a look at the remains of the 1994 genocide that claimed the lives of over a million people in a space of only 100 days.

While in this Centre you will have to look at victims' skulls, Weapons that were used during the clash and be told about what happened exactly before, during and after the genocide. Drive back to your booked lodge and rest

Day6. Transfer to the airport and fly back home.

Being your last day of this safari, enjoy your breakfast escorted with your cup of tea and after drive to Kigali International airport for your flight.
