Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour

Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our professional driver guide, he or she will brief you about your 20 days Uganda safari. You will go for a Kampala city tours.

Visit places like Bahai temple, Buganda kingdom palace, Kasubi tombs and many more. Lunch will be at any hotel in Kampala. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Explore the source of the Nile – Jinja

After breakfast, meet your driver and transfer to Jinja.  You will explore the source of the world’s longest river – the River Nile.

You will participate in many activities like bungee jumping, white water rafting, canoeing, fishing, kayaking, city tour, and many more. Lunch will be along the way. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Mount Elgon National Park

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before checking out of the lodge. You will drive to Mount Elgon National Park. You will have stop overs to relax and lunch along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full day Mount Elgon tour

Sipi Falls Tour Uganda

The 4th day of your 20 days Uganda safari belong to the world’s largest volcanic caldera. You will climb the mountain, visit the caves, explore Sipi Falls. The park is a reliable birding destination as well. Lunch and dinner will be at your lodge. Spend the night after your amazing long day.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Uganda’s most isolated National Park – Kidepo Valley National Park. The park is home to rare species like cheetah and ostrich. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full day game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park

The whole day belongs to the endless valleys and savannah plains of Kidepo Valley National Park.

You will start with breakfast and embark on the full-day game drives in the park. Explore the Narrus Valley and the Kanangorok areas. You will see cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles and many bird species. A picnic lunch in the wilderness will be organized by your lodge.  Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Cultural Tours in Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, you will go for cultural tours in the northeastern Uganda. Visit the Karimajong people and explore their herdsmen-ship. The Ik people are equally amazing in the Mount Morungole areas. Return to your lodge in the evenning. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, check out the lodge and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will enjoy exceptional views of the abandoned areas in northern Uganda. Lunch will be en-route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise of the Nile

After breakfast go for a morning game drive in the Murchison Falls National Park.

This is Uganda’s oldest and largest National Park. The park is home to the big 4 animals namely; lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant. You will see many animal species and bird species as well. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on the Nile to create memories on your 20 days Uganda safari. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls. You will then hike to the top of the world’s strongest waterfalls – the Murchison Falls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Kibale National Park. You will have lunch along the way and enjoy scenic views of the surrounding areas. Arrive, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland tour

You are now at the Primate capital of the world. Start with a nice meal and go to the briefing center for chimp tracking. You will be led by a guide on your chimpanzee trekking. Upon meeting the chimps, you are allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Lunch will be at your lodge.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Bigodi wetland for a community tour. The swamp is a famous destination for birding in Uganda. You will meet the locals and many bird species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 12: Crater lake tours, Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru Caves and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will visit the crater lake area, hike to the top of the world and the Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru caves. Lunch will be on your way. Arrive, check in and spend the night over at your lodge.

Day 13: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

After breakfast, you will go on a guided game drive and explore the Kasenyi sector. The area is frequented by elephants and buffaloes. You will get up close with other animals like antelopes, waterbucks, bush pigs, warthogs, baboons, etc. Return to your lodge for lunch. You may opt for a game drive in the Ishasha sector and enjoy scenic views of the rare tree-climbing lions.

In the afternoon, you will take on a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel – a waterbody that connects Lake Edward to Lake George. You will meet many crocodiles as well as hippos. The area is also a nice birding spot. Return to your lodge and spend the night over.

Day 14: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge and night game drive in Ishasha sector

After a delicious morning meal, you will go to Kyambura Gorge for another chimpanzee trekking session. Track the chimps and explore the Kyambura Gorge. Return to your lodge for lunch. You will spend the afternoon at leisure in anticipation of the following activities.

At about 7:00 pm, you will go for a night game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This sector is a known habitat for the rare tree-climbing lions in Uganda. You will meet other animals like buffaloes and leopards. Return to your lodge for a late meal and spend the night over.

Day 15: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with en-route plantation tours

On the 15th day of your 20 days Uganda safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast. Check out the lodge and embark on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will also visit the coffee or tea plantations along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your boked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community tours

The day starts with a breakfast followed by a transfer to the park headquarters. The park is home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a community tour. You will enjoy amazing activities like fire-making, traditional dancing, and making crafts. In the evening return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Full day Lake Bunyonyi exploration

This whole day belongs to Uganda’s deepest lake – Lake Bunyonyi. You start your day with a delicious breakfast and embark on the drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Explore the many islands on the lake as well as local communities. The lake is birding haven and a reliable destination for guided nature walks in Uganda. You will spend the night at your lodge.

Day 18: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop at Igongo Cultural Centre and hike to the top of the Eclipse Monument to enjoy scenic views of Mbarara city. Lunch will also be en route. Upon arrival to the park, check in to your lodge and spend the night over.

Day 19: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo

After breakfast, take on a game drive in the Lake Mburo National Park. You will follow different routes in the park. You will enjoy an exceptional view of animals like zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, gazelles, warthogs, spotted hyenas, etc. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. You may as well visit the local Ankole Cultural Communities for yet another Uganda cultural tour on your 20 days Uganda safari.

In the afternoon, you will take on a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will encounter many water birds as well as interact with the local members of the community. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Transfer to Kampala – Departure

The Uganda Equator Line

Even good things come to an end! Have a relaxed meal and transfer to Kampala via the Uganda Equator. Lunch will be along the way as well. The driver will drop you off at a hotel of your choice in Kampala. You may as well go to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight. This marks the end of your spectacular 20 days Uganda safari.
