Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and afternoon boat cruise
Upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet our professional driver guide. He or she will brief you about the 4 Days Volcanoes National Park and Akagera National Park Safari.
You will then embark on the drive to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lode for lunch. In the afternoon, you go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. You will get up close with large schools of hippos, fish and crocodiles. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the drive through Akagera National Park.
You will spot many animal species including the big five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and African cape buffalo). The game drive will also allow you to spot many bird species.
You will continue to Volcanoes National Park with an en-route lunch. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Mountain gorilla trekking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing.
You will be led by a tour guide into the forests of Volcanoes National Park.
Upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence. You may visit the Dian Fossey grave found at Karisoke Research Center. Learn about the conservation stories of Dian Fossey and the mountain gorillas. Return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Ibyi’wacu cultural village also known as the Gorilla Guardian Village. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali – Departure
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kigali. If time allows, you will do a Kigali city tour and visit genocide memorial sites. Lunch will be along the way.
