Overview
This tour takes you to Uganda’s most visited national park, inhabiting
elusive and rare wildlife species such as the rare tree-climbing lions,
elephants, buffaloes, leopards. Four of the big five mammals are likely
to be spotted here. Other animals common here include warthogs, hippos,
crocodiles, Uganda Kobs, Topis,waterbucks, bushbucks, Oribis, among
others.
More bird species can be seen while on the game drive and boat
cruise during this safari, migratory birds can be seen like the terns,
pelicans and flamingos. The journey to and from rewards you with
beautiful scenery ranging from terraced hills, valleys, plantations,
Uganda equator, Rwenzori ranges among others. Enjoy your safari!
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Depending on the agreed point of pick up, meet and greet with
your assigned guide driver and receive a simple briefing about the
safari and Uganda at large. The driver – guide quickly takes you to
Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Masaka – Mbarara – Kasese highway.
This journey exposes you to Uganda equator which is an excellent
stopover for photography and coffee.
While at this point, take photos and you can support the locals by purchasing some souvenirs like handmade crafts. Later proceed, have lunch in Mbarara and find yourway to your final destination. Queen Elizabeth National Park starts
appealing in your sight as soon as you enter its premises with roaming
wildlife such as Elephants, buffalos, antelopes among others. Arrive
late evening and head for your accommodation for relaxation.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park exploration – Game drive and boat cruise.
This will be a great day of creating memories where you spend
the whole day exploring the park with rewarding game drives and a boat
cruise. You will have game drive in the morning either in areas of Kasenyi plains or Mweya peninsular which is highly concentrated with wildlife. During a morning game drive, animals that maybe spotted include Elephants, lions, leopards, waterbucks, oribis, olive baboons, warthogs, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, and topi among others.
A game drive normally lasts for only 2 to 4 hours and after return for break at the lodge followed by lunch. Head to Kazinga channel that inhabits hippos and crocodiles but animals like elephants, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs are normally spotted on its banks. Also, birds are spotted mostly water birds like fish eagles, African mourning dove, hammerkops, pelicans, terns among others. Retire after three hours of boat cruise along the waters of Kazinga channel.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala.
Have an early morning game drive for a chance of spotting the
missed wildlife and after head back to the lodge for breakfast and check
out.
This time you will pass via Fort portal where you will have a
chance to view the Rwenzori ranges covered with glaciers, the tea
plantations of Fort Portal, natural forest of Kibale and Matiri reserve.
You will have stopovers and the major ones will be on the roadside
local markets andanother one to take your lunch in Mubende town. You
will then dropped at the agreed point or at the airport. This will mark
the end of your 3 days wildlife safari.
