3 DAYS FLY IN GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI.

Overview

This is a lifetime opportunity for you, grab it as soon as possible! We are talking of a scenic flight over the lush green hills of the pearl of Africa – Uganda. It is a chance to dodge the long road transfer to the home of gentle, giant human-like creatures (mountain gorillas) in the one and only Bwindi impenetrable national park.
The flight offers you clear views of a spectacular number of gorilla population and so much more. It is an adventurous moment that will never leave your nervous system alone.

Day 1: Morning scheduled flight to Kihihi airstrip from Entebbe.

Early in the morning, you will be picked from your place of residence and be led to Entebbe airport for a flight to Kihihi with Aerolink. The flight takes about 1 hour and on arrival you’ll meet and greet with our company ground representative and be driven right away to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; approximately one hour’s drive. There is a variety of optional activities that can be done this afternoon (time permitting), and these may include:

Forest walks.

You may take part in the walk through Uganda’s magnificent tropical rainforest under the guidance of professional tour guides. You will be blessed with the joy of undulating forest views, sounds and sights of the rainforest and its residents. You will enjoy watching birds that find their dwelling in the forest, in addition to taking a glimpse of numerous monkey species living within the canopy.

Village community walks.

Take part in the community walk that will lead you through neighboring villages. The expedition involves many optional activities such as visiting traditional homes, local orphanages and schools, meeting traditional healers and banana brewing demonstrations. The walk lasts for about four hours and it is primarily dependent on individual interests and schedule. Located on the edge of the Great Rift Valley in south western Uganda, Bwindi impenetrable national park is considered one of the most diverse forests in the country. 

It is one of the few places in East Africa where mountain and lowland habitats converge thus forming dense ground cover of vines, shrubs and herbs. Bwindi impenetrable national park shelter’s 50% of total population of mountain gorillas worldwide, in addition to 160 tree species, 200 butterfly species, 120 Mammalia species and 345 bird species. This makes the park a great destination for tourists who are open to exploration of world’s nature and beauty.

Day 2: Trekking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After serving yourself with a lip-smacking breakfast at the lodge, make your way to park headquarters for a briefing and registration. This session is intended to acquaint you with the dos and don’ts of the expedition. You are then led by professional guides to track these giant creatures.

Trekking will lead you through dense foliage and steep climbs. It will as well reward you with dramatic views of natural habitats, here is an opportunity for you to come closer to these giants, take pictures with them, watch them play, mate and feed. It is always creating your own story with over 500 individual gorillas estimated to be in this magical
forest. Having completed the adventure, retreat to the lodge and if time becomes your best ally, be part of a guided afternoon walk into the forest or neighboring Batwa communities.

Note: Trekking lasts for almost six hours or more depending on the movement of gorillas.Come back to the lodge for an overnight and prepare for the next day in advance.

Day 3: Bid farewell to Bwindi and transfer to Kihihi for a return flight to Entebbe Airport.
