Book an 8 days Uganda safari and adventure the Pearl of Africa in a new style. Explore one of East Africa’s largest savannah national parks- Murchison Falls National Park during game drives and a boat cruise.

Visit the primate capital of the world, Kibale Forest National Park, for a memorable chimpanzee tracking. Discover more about mountain gorillas while on a gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi. Visit Africa’s second deepest lake, Lake Bunyonyi. This lake is one of the very few lakes free from hippos and crocodiles and is best for swimming.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Murchison Falls Trip from Kampala

Pick up by your guide and have a short briefing on how the tour will go. Drive to Murchison Falls National Park. This is the biggest of the 10 parks the Pearl of Africa is known for.

Make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary primarily to track rhinos in their natural environment. From Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Murchison is about 2 hours’ drive via Kichumbanyobo gate.

Day 2: Murchison Falls NP, Game drive, boat cruise

Early breakfast and today’s activities range from a morning game drive to a boat cruise with an experienced park guide. First, have an exciting morning game drive in the park to see kobs, waterbucks, hartebeest, buffaloes, giraffes, birds, etc.

A morning game drive lasts about 2-3 hours. Later, have lunch and head for an afternoon boat cruise to see crocodiles, hippos, and birds, especially cormorants and bee-eaters. In addition, hike to the top of the falls.

Day 3: Murchison Falls to Kibale via Fort Portal in Kabarole district

You will leave Murchison Falls NP early, immediately after a cup of tea/coffee, and drive for long hours up to Kibale National Park (7- 8 hours, including a lunch stop at Fort Portal. Proceed to any of the lodges you booked at Kibale to settle in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking-Kibale in Uganda

Enjoyable cup of tea/coffee early, after, get briefed at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre on chimp trekking regulations. Access to Kibale Forest starts at 8:00am after you have been allocated to park guide, and takes 2 to 4 hours. Finding a chimp community guarantees you 1 full hour to observe chimpanzees, how they groom each other, taking photos then you walk back thereafter.

Lunch at leisure and after, Bigodi Swamp will be your next area to visit in the afternoon. Enjoy a nature walking via Bigodi swamp, sight a range of avifaunal species then relaxation at the lodge.

Day 5: Kibale-Bwindi in Uganda, drive through Ishasha

Meet your guide after breakfast, drive to Bwindi, navigate via the Ishasha Area of Queen Elizabeth. Have a mini game drive at Ishasha, with sightings of tree-climbing lions guaranteed for you, then later, lunch at Savanna Resort before checking into the lodge for an overnight stay in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking experience

Gorilla trekking: Have early breakfast and with packed snacks, bottle of water, get to park offices for briefing. 8:00am will be actual time to begin looking for mountain gorillas, 2-6 hours, and once you have found them, 1 hour will be must for you to observe these intelligent species.

Walk back to the point you began trekking, get a gorilla trekking certificate, transfer to the lodge for relaxation and in the afternoon, visit the Batwa.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi for full day exploration

Lake Bunyonyi tour: Early breakfast and embark on 2 hours drive straight to Lake Bunyonyi. Activities to expect to do while on Lake Bunyonyi expedition, boat ride, visiting some of the 29 islands including the Punishment Island, cultural walk, Swimming or chilling at the shores.

Day 8: Departure

Meet your driver guide early after breakfast, leave Kabale for Kampala, about 8 hours journey. Arrive at Mbarara city early for lunch, photo shoot and experiment at Equator-End of 8 days Uganda safari.
