Overview
The 3 days gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park is a primate tour focusing on gorillas. It offers an intimate time in the presence of the mountain gorillas for an hour. Volcanoes National Park is among the few gorilla trekking destinations in the world. This is because it lies in the Virunga Conservation Area. This area is also occupied by Bwindi and Mgahinga of Uganda and also Virunga and Kahuzi-Biega of Congo. Together, these destinations form the remaining gorilla destinations.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be ushered in by our guide driver. The guide driver will then deliver a short briefing on how your safari is likely to run.
This briefing will mainly comprise the do’s and don’ts to follow while on your safari. After you will drive heading to volcanoes national Park the home of the giant mountain gorillas.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
This is the day you have been waiting for as you will begin it
with a delicious breakfast at your lodge and after drive to the park
headquarters for your payments, permit and briefing from the park
officials. After the briefing, a ranger guide will lead you to the park
for trekking these animals.
As soon as you reach these giant mountain gorillas, an extra of one hour will be given to you for you to take photos and videos and if you are done with the trekking, you will be given a gorilla trekking certificate and then drive to your lodge for your dinner.
Day 3: Departure back to Kigali. End of Tour
Being your last day of your safari, you will wake up very
early in the morning and enjoy your morning breakfast with your cup of
tea after driving heading to Kigali city where you will be either
dropped at one of the restaurants in the city or be driven directly to
the airport and fly back home.
