Overview.
The 4-Day Double gorilla trekking trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park allows you to relish the gorilla trekking experience twice within the lush forest of Bwindi. During this phenomenal safari, you will visit two of the four gorilla trekking regions/sectors of the Park to spend some quality time with two incredibly different habituated gorilla groups.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwest of Uganda features four gorilla trekking regions /sectors that include Ruhija, Buhoma, Rushaga and Nkuringo with a total of over 20 habituated gorilla groups.
Therefore our trip begins and ends in Kampala, involves visiting two of these sectors and also includes other activities such as village /community visit and relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1: Pick-up from the airport or hotel for drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Our company representative will pick you up from the Airport or Hotel then begin your road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for our 4 days Double Gorilla Trekking safari.
En-route make stops at the Equator for photography then another in the City of
Mbarara for a hot meal. After lunch continue with your road trip through spectacular sceneries, stunning terraced hills as you get to Kabale-“Switzerland of Africa”. Settle-in at your reserved lodge for dinner and slumber.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in one sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and transfer to another sector.
Have breakfast and with your lunch box walk to the park headquarters for registration and briefing on mountain gorilla trekking. UWA Ranger guides will take you through the important dos and don’ts while with the Giant Apes then continue to the starting point of the gorilla trek.
Allocation to a particular gorilla group depends on age, level of physical fitness and personal interests but be guaranteed of unforgettable experiences with the mountain gorillas. These treks can be physically demanding hence a certain level of fitness is recommended.
Trek for 1-6 hours while receiving information on the Park, encountered birds, wildlife and tree species until you reach the habituated group of gorillas. The allotted time for observation and photography is one hour then return to your Lodge. Pack your bags for a transfer to the second gorilla trekking sector.
Day 3: Second gorilla trek, village/community visit and drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Just like the second day (first gorilla trekking adventure), you will be expected to be up early and get to the Park Headquarters for briefing on your second gorilla trek. You will trek another gorilla groups in a different sector and possibly different terrain. Later in the afternoon undertake a guided village/community walk to learn about the culture and lifestyle of the people then drive to Lake Bunyonyi.
This stunning Lake is home to 29 small and large Islands teeming with birdlife. Some of the optional leisure activities here are canoe rides, community birding, relaxation at the lodge and swimming in the Bilharzia-free waters of the Lake. You will dine and spend overnight along the Lakeshore accommodation facilities.
Day 4: Depart for Kampala City.
Set out on a short boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi after breakfast then embark on the
journey to Kampala. Arrive in the evening for airport transfers or hotel drop-off and this marks the end of this 4 days Double Gorilla Trekking Trip in Bwindi.
